Nakonde Town Council has received approval for the 2026 Constituency Development Fund (CDF) bursary beneficiaries under the Skills Development and Secondary Boarding bursary components.
Under the Skills Development Bursary, a total of 120 new students have been approved at a total cost of K2,873,006.00. This move is aimed at empowering young people with vocational and technical skills to enhance employability and promote entrepreneurship in the district.
Further, under the Secondary Boarding Bursary, approval has been granted for 240 new entrants at a total cost of K1,289,976.00, while applications for 306 returning students have been approved at a cost of K1,538,268.00. This intervention is intended to support access to quality education for learners from vulnerable households.
The approvals have been done pursuant to Section 12(a) read together with Section 25(2) of the Constituency Development Fund Act No. 1 of 2024 by the Ministry of Local Government and Rural Development, through the Office of the Provincial Local Government Officer, Muchinga Province.
Nakonde Town Council reaffirms its commitment to ensuring transparent and equitable utilization of the Constituency Development Fund in line with Government policy objectives of human capital development, poverty reduction, and inclusive growth.
Beneficiaries under the Skills Development Bursaries component are hereby requested to visit the Nakonde Town Council Development Planning Department to collect their introductory letters before reporting to their respective schools of admission.
The Council further encourages residents to continue engaging with local leadership on development programmes supported under CDF.
